Calming Master Bedroom

Mandate

The biggest challenge was fitting the couples’ king size bed around the structural concrete column. We chose a grey velvet tufted headboard with teal accents inspired by the teal boat in the watercolor painting they brought from their old residence. We created the color palette for a calming atmosphere where the couple could unwind. We kept a thin white comforter since they would only be here in the summertime

(being snowbirds) and white side tables to keep the space feeling as airy as possible. We chose open night tables with floating drawers in a textured wood finish to pair with the ceiling fan above. The sleek lines and openness of the night table and openness let the otherwise cramped corners breathe and didn’t add too much weight to the room, while balancing out the large headboard.
